"A Comic Book Christmas" Greeting Card Design Contest (plus a few ideas to get you guys started)

That's right! It's time for our second contest!

This time around, we're decking the halls... with comics!

Once again, it's the same rules. Pure flat colour vector art. No rasters, filters, shadows or trasnparencies.

For the theme, anything to do with christmas and comics will suffice. What kinda comics? ANY KIND! Anime, superhero, newspaperstrips, Single picture, modern, classic, pop-art, old school, new school, whatever!

Here are a coupla ideas to get you guys started off!

As usual with our contests, go nuts! Let those creative juices flow and let's make it a Christmas to remember!

What's in it for you?

Whoah. We've got something well and truly nuts this time. In the spirit of Christmas and giving, we've got 10 awesome prizes! Better still, you get to pick what you win!

We have a list of prizes ranging from iPods to multi-function printers, and depending on how highly-ranked your card is rated by the public, you get preference of your prize. meaning 1st place winner will pick first, 2nd place winner will pick 2nd and so on...

Also, we've got US$600 cold hard cash for 1st prize (in addition to the prize you pick from Santa's Bag'O'Gadgets), US$300 for 2nd, and US$150 for third!

Free Cards sent & The Making of THE "We Are All Geeks" PHOTOSHOOT

Ok first of all, (and i find myself saying this alot) SORRY FOR THE DELAY! But for those of you who took the time to review all 70 cards on our site, your FREE CARDS are on their way! We Just posted them today. If you didn't receive yours, just drop me a quick email at chak@foldees.com.

Now, onto the making. The honest truth is that we didn't decide to put photos of the cards on the main page until the very last minute.

So it took a borrowed SLR (thanks Amy) and an entire 48 hours of stumbling aorund our various houses and personal belongings to find the items necessary to shoot the photos you see currently on our website.

We're FINALLY SELLING SOME CARDS!

Yup, that's right. After spending two months collecting designs through our "We Are All Geeks" greeting card contest,, Foldees.com is finally ready to sell some cards!

We are proud to present 70 of the GEEKIEST greeting cards in the world, made by some of the most talented designers in the world (including US, Japan, the Philippines and of course, Malaysia), with topics ranging from Superpoking to lightsaber-syringes!

How to buy?

We're currently offering two ways of getting your favourite cards through to your friends/stalkees/enemies. You can either:-

  • Buy Blank Card(s) - and have them packaged nicely with envelopes and sent to your doorstep

OR

  • Customise & Send - which allows you to type your messages online, and have our beautifully printed cards sent to any doorstep in the world! Login and you can even sign off with your own personal avatar.

Each card retails for US$ 2.00 and is printed on Evolution 280g, which is a heavy-duty yet environmentally-friendly paper, approved by the FSC, the world's leading authority on minimising the impact of paper on our planet.

The flyer is attached. We also have (really awesomely cool) hi-res pictures of every card, so if you need any additional information to help us spread the word, then just drop me a message at chak@foldees.com. We really, really need your help at this point to blog about this! Also, if you could do us a favour and let any of your friends in the media know about this, it would really really help!
